New Jersey Turnpike handpainted plate, Made in Germany, numbered. This plate completely fascinates me. Everyone who sees it says it is pretty, and I suppose that when I look at the coloring and the way the plate is made, it is pretty. But honestly, about the only thing I hate worse than the New Jersey Turnpike is the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I mean, come on, it’s a Turnpike! I really can’t understand how this subject gets the handpainted, made in Germany treatment, but here it is, right in front of us. The plate is approximately 9.5-inches in diameter and does have some chipping at places, but none of that detracts from it. The numbering format is indecipherable to me and it has different numbers, and I can’t explain it. The image on the plate has raised parts which might be hard to see in the photos, but the leaves are raised and so are angles of the turnpike gates, and it’s very nicely done, and the painting is quite impressive. If you love the New Jersey Turnpike, or if you like travel collectibles that are finely made, then you might really like this. Indeed, the more I look at it, the more I am sort of transported away to the New Jersey Turnpike….Please someone buy this. Ships free!
